In a newly-established role, Mr. Wenger will work closely with the firm’s transaction execution teams to provide expertise and analysis regarding technical, engineering, and transmission aspects of renewable energy projects. “Jake has extensive experience on the technical and commercial aspects of energy project engineering, construction, and execution,” said James Stahle, Senior Managing Director and Partner. “His experience advising both sponsors and investors on technical and engineering issues for complex energy project transaction will be a great asset to our team and we are thrilled to have him join.”
Jake Wenger brings over 12 years of experience in renewable energy, managing teams that provide advisory services and due diligence to developers, lenders, investors, owners, and sellers of utility- and commercial-scale renewable energy facilities and portfolios supporting project financing including construction, tax equity, refinancing, and M&A services. Jake Wenger, Director – Technical
Jake Wenger, Director – Technical, provides technical guidance to sponsors and investors related to commercial and economic considerations in renewable energy transactions. Jake’s broad experience in the renewable energy industry enables him to understand project- and portfolio-level agreements, processes, and issues, and to communicate risks and opportunities to CCA Group’s clients. He enjoys facilitating solutions to advance progress in the energy industry’s evolution. Over the past 12 years, he has provided consultation to stakeholders on more than 6 GW of solar and wind transactions during development, construction, and operational phases and has managed the engineering, procurement, and construction of more than 1 GW of renewable assets.
Prior to joining CCA Group, Jake was a Senior Manager at Luminate where he managed teams providing technical due diligence and advisory services to developers, lenders, investors, owners, and sellers of utility- and commercial-scale renewable energy facilities in connection with various types of transactions, including construction debt, tax equity, refinancing, and M&A. Jake also held several engineering and management positions with Mortenson, a leader of renewable energy EPC services.
Jake earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering from Michigan State University and is a licensed professional engineer.
