Leadership

James Stahle

Position: Senior Managing Director, Partner

James R. Stahle, Senior Managing Director, Partner, and Founding Member, works closely with institutional clients on project acquisitions and providing structured tax, equity, and debt capital investments in renewable energy and infrastructure projects. He also works extensively with new sponsor issuers in the renewable energy market, including regulated and non-regulated utilities, both foreign and domestic, seeking access to both capital and new investment opportunities. As an active leader and Senior Managing Director at CCA Group, he currently oversees the day-to-day activities of the firm, new business initiatives (including the expansion of CCA Group’s private debt investment platform) and cultivating new institutional clients across the various business lines impacting clean energy initiatives and global sustainability needs. Over the past 40 years, Jamie has been involved in over $40 billion worth of asset and project finance transactions as either a principal or advisor including renewable energy projects, oil and gas resource investments, thermal generation, transportation assets (commercial and industrial), and energy infrastructure for U.S. and foreign companies.

Prior to establishing CCA Group, Jamie was a Managing Director at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, where he established the structured products platform to provide sell-side and buy-side advisory services to issuer and institutional clients, as well as syndication and distribution on principal and issuer mandates. He is currently a board member of Melmark Inc. and Melmark New England School for Autism, which is part of his more general advocacy for projects and initiatives to support children and adults with autism.

Jamie earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Colby College.

Martin Pasqualini

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Martin J. Pasqualini, Managing Director, Partner, and Founding Member, represents strategic and financial sponsors as well as capital providers in connection with the financing, acquisition, and disposition of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. As a partner and lead facilitator of wind and solar transactions at CCA Group, he firmly believes in renewable energy and the expansion of clean energy infrastructure. Over the past 32 years, including preceding roles as a project finance attorney and investment banker, he has developed both a great wealth of expertise as well as an unparalleled network of industry relationships that enable him to deliver efficient, customized solutions to his clients. With over 100 transactions executed, he is recognized as a true sector expert with a unique appreciation for his clients’ objectives and how best to achieve them. He was ranked the 80th Most Influential Person in North American Wind in the 2021 North American Power List by A Word About Wind.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Marty was a Managing Director in the Tax Products Group at BTM Capital Corporation and was also formerly a partner in the Project and Structured Finance Group of Bingham Dana LLP. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Joslin Diabetes Center.

Marty earned his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Boston College and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Boston College Law School.

Michael Quinlan

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Michael V. Quinlan, Managing Director, Partner, and Founding Member, is focused on the financing of renewable energy generation and storage assets with a current emphasis on solar power. He is responsible for maintaining the firm’s existing investor base, the cultivation of new institutional investor interest in renewable energy, and the exploration of additional “green” investment opportunities.

Over the past 32 years, Mike has worked in a variety of capacities including transaction origination, structuring, syndication, and client advisory. He has participated in nearly $20 billion worth of tax-oriented financings across a number of different jurisdictions and asset classes including aviation, rail, manufacturing, real estate, infrastructure, thermal power generation, and renewable energy. Since the establishment of CCA Group in 2003, Mike has participated in dozens of renewable energy transactions across all segments of those markets and utilizing a wide variety of different financing structures.

Prior to the establishment of CCA Group, Mike was a Managing Director in the Tax Products Group at BTM Capital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., where he provided both sell-side and buy-side advisory services to many of the bank’s institutional clients.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.

Michael Feng

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Michael Feng, Managing Director and Partner, oversees economic modeling and the development of various structured finance products on behalf of strategic and financial sponsors as well as capital providers. As a partner and mathematic thinker, he not only helps construct financial models tailored to each client, but also works to teach and develop in his clients an understanding of how the economics operate. Over the past 20 years, Michael has been recognized for his expertise and efficiency in modeling, having taught seminars on structured tax products for clients, as well as at law firms and at the MIT Sloan School of Management.  Currently, he also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Price College of Business, teaching renewable energy finance.

Prior to his joining CCA Group, Michael was at the Tax Products Group at BTM Capital Corporation, where he helped develop and execute various tax-intensive asset finance transactions. He has also held positions at TenFold as a software developer for trade-order management systems, and at Harvard University, where he taught geology, chemistry, and statistics.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University with highest honors in Chemistry.

Megan Lawrence

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Megan H. Lawrence, Managing Director and Partner, joined CCA in 2006 and, since that time, she has advised either the sponsor or the tax equity investor in connection with the tax equity financing of more than 70 wind farms amounting to approximately 12,000 MW of nameplate capacity and over 1,200 MWAC of utility-scale solar energy projects. Having worked on both sides of such financings, through various tax subsidy regimes, and in differing macro-economic conditions, she understands the drivers for both sides and advises on market-based risk allocations and solutions.

As a partner with over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy space, she also regularly advises on transactions involving the acquisition or sale of renewable energy assets, ranging from a single development asset to large portfolios of operating assets. Megan has also more recently worked on the financing of newer technologies to the U.S. market, including offshore wind projects and battery storage projects.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Megan was an attorney in the Project and Structured Finance Group of Bingham McCutchen LLP (now a part of Morgan Lewis) for almost 10 years. As an attorney, she represented lenders, in addition to developers and equity investors, in connection with transactions involving a broad array of energy projects, including wind, biomass, hydro, geothermal, fossil fuels, and waste-to-energy.

Cornelius Jackson

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Cornelius Jackson, Managing Director and Partner, provides pricing and structuring for asset finance transactions within the renewable energy and infrastructure markets. As a partner at CCA Group with robust financial analytics experience, he currently constructs and evaluates tax-efficient modeling best suited for each client and their economic needs. Since 1997, Corne has been involved in billions of dollars of financings of renewable energy projects, transportation assets, and energy infrastructure for U.S. and foreign companies.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Corne worked for more than eight years at Babcock and Brown pricing and helping to structure numerous renewable energy transactions. He also previously held pricing and structuring positions at Sumitomo Bank and The Transportation Group.

Corne earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.

Andrew Briggs

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Andrew D. Briggs, Managing Director and Partner, represents tax equity investors and strategic and financial sponsors in connection with the financing of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. As a partner facilitating the financing and long-term ownership of utility-scale solar and wind transactions at CCA Group, he firmly believes in the necessity of expanding the domestic U.S. renewable energy generation platform to preserve quality of life for future generations. His previous domestic and international tax-based investment experience in energy, transportation, and infrastructure assets has helped further advance his expertise in renewable energy investments. He has worked closely with a myriad of investor and issuer clients helping to complete financings in excess of $25 billion in various market conditions.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Andy was a Director at GMAC Equipment Finance and Dexia Global Structured Finance groups focused on tax equity investments in domestic and foreign equipment and infrastructure assets. Prior to that, he was one of the original members of an advisory group at PricewaterhouseCoopers that ultimately grew to over 30 people.

Matthew Cammack

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Matthew D. Cammack, Managing Director and Partner, represents strategic and financial sponsors, investors, and capital providers in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and financing of utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout the United States. He combines in-depth industry knowledge, a strong network of industry relationships, and a unique perspective gained over the course of 20+ years in various roles as a lawyer, banker, and financial advisor. With the benefit of a long-term perspective, he strives to clearly understand client objectives, develop thoughtful strategies, and deliver innovative, customized solutions.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Matt was an attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, specializing in private equity transactions, including M&A, financings, recapitalizations, and restructurings. Previously, he was at FleetBoston Financial (now Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and Suntrust Bank, where he was involved in underwriting credit to large and middle market companies in a wide range of industries for growth and acquisition.

Jay Chang

Position: Managing Director, Partner

Jay Chang, Managing Director and Partner, is an experienced asset-based financing professional within the energy and transportation sectors who represents sponsors and investors in the formation, execution, and implementation of financial solutions. As a partner and lead facilitator in wind and solar opportunities, he applies his structured financing, market analysis, and execution experience to deliver value creation through transaction success and ease. Over the past 16 years, he has accumulated a wealth of experience, but more importantly, a diversity of experience through his prior roles at developers and investment banks. Jay has been involved in both tax-oriented and debt capital investments that span over $14 billion of capital investments, representing more than 7,000 MW of installed generation capacity.

Prior to joining CCA Group, he was a Director in the Leasing and Asset Finance Division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) where he was focused on structured finance investments in renewable energy projects. His involvement included representing approximately 4,000 MW of installed electric generation capacity and $8 billion in capital investments. Prior to MUFG, he held positions at Enel Green Power and Deutsche Bank.

Michael Wheeler

Position: Managing Director - Execution

Michael Wheeler, Managing Director – Execution, leads execution teams for sponsor and investor clients, as well as supporting buy-side client opportunities. Over the past twenty years, Michael has executed nearly $7B in equity and debt financing transactions across 25 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects totaling more than 4GW of installed renewable energy capacity. He has led and completed highly structured multi-party transactions across North America with more than twenty US and European commercial banks for tax equity and debt financing. In addition, he has been responsible for managing joint ventures with institutional partners invested in renewable projects.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Michael was Senior Director of Project Finance at EDF Renewables (EDFR) where he was responsible for raising debt and tax equity for EDFR’s North American projects. During his final two years with EDFR, Michael concurrently served as the Project Director for an 840 MWp solar + 340 MWh storage portfolio under development/construction in California. Before his tenure at EDFR, he was a summer associate at GE Wind. Michael has also held Program Manager / Project Engineer roles at hydrogen fuel cell system developers H Power Corp and Analytic Power Corp.

Michael earned his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech.

Yiyun Tsai

Position: Managing Director

Yiyun Tsai, Managing Director, provides valuation and financial modeling for tax equity investors and sponsors with respect to the financing and the acquisition and sale of renewable energy projects. With a strong analytical background, she has expertise in pricing and modeling complex financing structures while effectively communicating with clients to ensure that the financing structures meet their economic needs. Over the past 12 years, Yiyun has been involved in over $5 billion worth of asset and project finance transactions.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Yiyun was an analyst in the Structured Products Group at Deutsche Bank, where she worked on structured transactions across multiple asset classes including aircraft trading, lottery receivables/legal settlements, and RMBS securitizations. Jameson Neseralla

Jake Wenger

Position: Director - Technical

Jake Wenger, Director – Technical, provides technical guidance to sponsors and investors related to commercial and economic considerations in renewable energy transactions. Jake’s broad experience in the renewable energy industry enables him to understand project- and portfolio-level agreements, processes, and issues, and to communicate risks and opportunities to CCA Group’s clients. He enjoys facilitating solutions to advance progress in the energy industry’s evolution. Over the past 14 years, he has provided consultation to stakeholders on more than 7 GW of solar and wind transactions during development, construction, and operational phases and has managed the engineering, procurement, and construction of more than 1 GW of renewable assets.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Jake was a Senior Manager at Luminate where he managed teams providing technical due diligence and advisory services to developers, lenders, investors, owners, and sellers of utility- and commercial-scale renewable energy facilities in connection with various types of transactions, including construction debt, tax equity, refinancing, and M&A. Jake also held several engineering and management positions with Mortenson, a leader of renewable energy EPC services.

Austin Schroll

Position: Director - Execution

Austin Schroll, Director – Execution, oversees successful asset tax equity financings, M&A transactions, and debt financing, and facilitates the financial closing process, by ensuring economic modeling, value engineering, technical issues, and client concerns are addressed throughout the renewable energy transaction. As a business development leader at CCA Group, he collaborates with sponsors and developers on operational & growth strategies to support origination efforts, helping to build market presence.

Over the past decade, Austin has provided superior client services focusing on business development, including renewable energy marketing, M&A opportunities, economic modeling, and responsibility for commercial activity across 30+GW of operating assets.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Austin was a Vice President, Sales at Vestas. His teams were responsible for marketing, sales, financial engineering, equipment specifications, contract negotiations, and operational agreements across 2+GWs annually. Prior to that, Austin led all commercial activity across Vestas’ operating assets, including new contracts where he led sales, marketing, sales operations, and negotiations across renewable assets from multiple original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Austin also has experience from positions at PowerSecure International and ASEA Brown Bovari.

Austin earned his MBA from Vanderbilt and has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.

Philip Lam

Position: Associate Director

Philip Lam, Associate Director, provides financial advisory, structuring and modeling services within the renewable energy market.  He works closely with energy, utility, private equity, and Fortune 500 companies and focuses on pricing, tax and valuation analysis for complex equity and debt transactions.  Philip develops dynamic financial models to efficiently evaluate funding sources and investment opportunities for clients looking to acquire, develop and invest in sustainable energy assets.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Philip worked in the Public Finance group at Zions Bank, where he was responsible for executing taxable and tax-exempt debt financings for education, healthcare, and real estate clients. To date, Philip has been involved with raising over $1.2 billion of equity and debt capital markets transactions. Prior to Zions Bank, Philip was a fixed income analyst at BNY Mellon.

Gregson Curtin

Gregson Curtin, Associate, represents strategic and financial sponsors, investors and capital providers in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and financing of utility-scale renewable energy projects.  He actively supports transaction execution, diligence efforts and closely monitors industry trends.  As a former market research analyst and project developer, he brings a wide breath of knowledge surrounding the development and capital raising process to support projects in late-state development.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Gregson was a Project Finance Analyst with SunVest Solar focused on evaluating new market opportunities and supporting due diligence efforts.  Prior to that he was a Market Research Analyst with Wood Mackenzie focused on the hybridization of renewable energy technologies, utilities’ Integrated Resource Plans and ISO/RTO market trends.

Gregson earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Liberal Studies from Bentley University, concentrating in Capital Markets and Global Sustainability.

Marc Vincent

Position: Associate

Marc Vincent, Associate, represents tax equity investors and strategic and financial sponsors in connection with the financing of renewable energy projects throughout the United States.  As an associate, Marc aids in facilitating the financing and long-term ownership of various utility scale energy projects at CCA Group where he strives to fully understand clients and their objectives and provide innovative solutions whenever possible.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Marc was a consultant for Project Finance in Renewables where he was responsible for aiding in staffing and marketing for various solar and wind developer clients.  Marc was also a math & science teacher working in both non-profit and secondary education.

Robert Wilson

Position: Chief Financial Officer

Robert Wilson, Chief Financial Officer, provides oversight of CCA Group’s operations, finance, tax, and accounting functions as well as regulatory compliance for CCA Capital LLC, the firm’s broker-dealer subsidiary. Rob will also be responsible for the build-out and expansion of the Private Capital Investment Management business platform for CCA Group. With over 20 years as an accounting professional in the investment management industry, Rob has an excellent track record of controlling management companies and complex private investment funds, improving operational and financial processes and controls to mitigate risk and maximize scalability. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Financial Executives Alliance – Boston group.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Rob was the COO/CFO/CCO at RDC Capital Partners LP, a Boston-based global macro investment advisor, where he was responsible for all of the firms non-investment related activities. Previously he was the CFO/CCO at MAST Capital Management, a middle market leveraged credit advisor which managed a number of private investment vehicles, and a VP Fund Accounting Manager in JP Morgan’s Hedge Fund Services group in Boston, managing a team of 20 accountants responsible for NAV, investor, and compliance reporting. Prior to moving to Boston in 2010, Rob worked in controller roles at Ignis Asset Management, BlueCrest Capital Management, and Lehman Brothers in London.

Rob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University (UK), and an MBA from the London School of Business and Finance and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA®), a global CPA/CIMA designation.

Nicole Powers

Position: Operations Manager

Nicole Powers, Operations Manager, provides ongoing support and maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures, controlling correspondences, and addressing additional operational needs of members of CCA Group. She also manages the accounts receivable/accounts payable activities for the company, assists on compliance and reporting matters, and organizes all company events. Her coordination and firm knowledge provide superior customer service and continued ability to deliver on client requests. Over the past 17 years, she has helped facilitate documentation for over 250 transactions within the renewable energy markets.

Prior to joining CCA Group, Nicole was an Office Manager for Cintas Corporation where she oversaw the Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams as well as all new hire training. She also spent some time in sales where she was responsible for setting up new accounts and assisting the sales team.
